You start the day with every intention of eating well.
But somewhere along the way, a craving takes over.
Perhaps it's chocolate in the afternoon, biscuits with your coffee or wine after a stressful day.
You give in. For a brief moment you feel joy.
Then the guilt and frustration kick in. You promise yourself that tomorrow will be different.
But tomorrow comes... the craving strikes again... and you give in again.
What if the answer isn't trying harder, having more willpower, but about understanding what's happening? So that you can shift the pattern.
That's what we'll begin exploring in From Cravings to Choice.

Discover some of the different triggers that can set a craving in motion.

Recognise the sequence that leads up to one of your cravings.

Explore the role your thoughts, stories and language play in your cravings.

Map one of your own cravings so you leave with a plan personal to you.

Understand why feeling more in control of your cravings doesn't need more willpower.
And I'm not going to give you another list of foods to avoid.
We'll be looking at cravings through the mindset lens I wish I'd understood during my own years of dieting.
When I was teaching, I'd often reach the end of the school day tired and wanting a coffee. Going to make that coffee meant seeing cake beside the kettle, so suddenly I not only wanted coffee but cake too.
For years, I thought the problem was simply that I couldn't resist the cake.
Learning NLP taught me to look at the strategy underlying my behaviour: what triggered it, what happened next and, importantly, what I was saying to myself.

from
“Why can't I control myself?”
to:
“What's actually happening here?”
That is the question we'll begin exploring together.
And that is the question I answered that helped lose 10 lbs just by not eating that cake every afternoon.

Choose one craving you're curious about — perhaps chocolate, crisps, an evening snack or simply that urge to eat when you weren't expecting to. During the workshop, I'll guide you through looking at what happens around it.
When you register, you will be sent your free Craving Pattern Map workbook.
By the end of the workshop, you will have mapped your craving pattern so you can see it in a way you may never have thought of before.
You don't have to share, but you can ask questions, and you'll walk away with a lightbulb moment and a plan.

You don't need to be following a diet to take part. You simply need a craving you're curious about.
Hello, I'm Caroline Tyrwhitt, author of The Mindset Diet.
For years, I thought my problem was that I wasn't very good at dieting.
I'd start with the best intentions, struggle with hunger and cravings, give in, give up, and eventually start again.
Learning NLP introduced me to a different way of looking at behaviour. I became curious about the strategies, thoughts and patterns happening beneath what I did.
That curiosity changed the way I understood my own relationship with food and eventually became part of the work behind my book, The Mindset Diet.
Now I'd like to help you become curious about one of your cravings.

No. The workshop is about becoming curious about your relationship with cravings, whether you're currently following a particular way of eating or not.
We'll go beyond identifying the trigger and explore what happens next — including the thoughts, feelings and stories that can become part of the pattern.
No. The workshop isn't about telling you what you should or shouldn't eat. It's about understanding more about what happens when you experience a craving, so there's greater opportunity for choice.
No. You work privately with your own example during the exercises.
As this is a personal topic, I choose not to record my workshops so that people can feel comfortable asking questions and know that only those in attendance will hear.
Discover what's really triggering your food cravings — beyond hunger or a lack of willpower — so you can feel more in control around food.
