I am an NLP trainer and a Personal Care Institute accredited health and wellbeing coach and, most importantly, a recovering yo-yo dieter!
I was regularly on a diet right from my teenage years, and I 'lose 10 pounds in a week' strategies worked well for me until I hit my forties. At that point, I was working long hours as a school leader and was too tired and stressed to diet. I never had time to shop, let alone cook - or even eat! I inhaled food on the go and often went out for dinner or stuck a ready meal in the microwave. Self-care was not in my vocabulary. So I steadily gained weight and lost confidence in my appearance.
It was when I started to study NLP that I was able to lose weight - and not through dieting. I changed my relationship with food. NLP was a game changer for me. I undid my food programming – those triggers, habits and self-talk that kept me stuck in a yo-yoing cycle – as well as uncovering the one key that unlocked the ease and flow in weight loss for me. I share what I learned about the dieting trap and the tools and techniques I used to escape it in my book and in my coaching and training programmes.
